Cascade and Cluster Pays Features
This slot is a cluster pays game, meaning that wins are awarded when a group of four or more matching symbols appear on the reels, horizontally or vertically.
When you land a winning combination, the symbols cascade, making way for new symbols to appear. As such, you can win multiple times from one spin.
Portal Meter
Winning combinations on Tome of Madness gradually fill up the Portal Meter on the game’s interface. However, a losing spin or cascade will empty the meter. The awards for filling the meter include:
7 symbols: Special wilds (2x) will be added to your grid.
14 symbols: Special wilds (2x) will be added, and any winning combination triggers the Abyss Portal Effect feature.
27 symbols: Special wilds (2x) will be added, and any winning combination triggers the Void Portal Effect feature.
42 symbols: The Other World Free Round feature will be triggered.
Abyss Portal Effect
The Abyss Portal Effect feature removes a column or row from the winning special wild symbol, adding it to the Portal Meter.
If you also activate the Void Portal Effect at this stage, one regular symbol will be selected at random to clear all appearances of that same symbol from the grid.
Other World Free Round
When the Portal Meter consists of 42 symbols, the Other World Free Round will be activated.
You will be awarded one free round and three random portal effects.
During the feature, if you over-charge the Portal Meter, you will be given an additional Portal Effect for every three winning symbols that you collect.
The Portal Effect will continue until no more wins are possible following a cascade.
The Portal Effects within this feature include:
Special Wilds: Four special wilds will be added to the grid.
Abyss: Four special wilds will be added to the grid. The Abyss Portal Effect will activate if this triggers a winning combination.
Void: Four special wilds are added to the grid. If this triggers a winning combination, the Void Portal Effect will be activated.
